These are all Lapua cases that I had necked down for the 6-284. Lots of life still left on the cases so, I gotta try it. That new .257 131 gr. bullet has me in a tizzy and I want to build a 25-284
1. Anneal all cases
2. Run all cases through a .25 expander
3. Run all cases through a .26 expander, unless I get the tension I'm looking for with
.25 expander.
4. Run through .26 expander.
5. Run all cases through a 6.5-284 die to get case back to factory specs. Without stem.
6. Set neck tension using a 6.5-284 Redding Type S with appropriate bushing or a
25-284 Type S die with the appropriate bushing.
7. Redding Micrometer .257 VLD top on a 6.5-284 for seating.
Since I have the parent case die, (6.5-284) I'm thinking I wouldn't really have to buy any 25-284 dies at all?? Except for item # 7
What do you think?
