When using Midway’s free shipping I always add something the USPS won’t handle. A box of .22 ammo, aerosol, liquid, etc. It won’t be handed off to the post office and UPS will deliver.

Funny. My mail comes in the late afternoon (yesterday it came after I got home at 6pm.) This morning I saw a mail truck delivering what I suspect was a package to my neighbor across the street, at 7:15am.

I have seen the same in my area. They also have a few trucks delivering packages only.

This is the USPS way to keep the cost down.
They have the same thing through Fed-Ex
This time of year the USPS handles so many more pkgs.
the regular route drivers can't fit into the vehicle, so they have
others (seasonal) delivering some of the pkgs.
Amazon pkgs. usually get priority over your basic.
Sometimes they won't even look at them for a couple days.
You should see the bins that are piled up just setting there.

90% of our delivery trucks are now rentals, it's been this way for a few weeks.

USPS has been trash here since covid. Anything that wasn't a letter form factor is always delayed, lost, etc, and requires a trip to the post office to gripe about.

If you mark free shipping, this is what you get. If I want stuff faster, I order ground. If you can drop off from dozens to thousands of packages to one address, instead of having a driver spend hours doing the same, it saves a bunch of money. There's more to it than this, but this is the basics

Midway "Express Delivery" (see my cat in a box avatar) is one of the reasons I quit buying anything from Midway unless they are the only place that has it. Apparently "Express" means whenever they hell it gets there, you'll get it... It's not this time of the year, it's been that way for a long time.

Since I'm a Brownells Edge member, I rarely shop at Midway. I do go back when Midway sends off my birthday discount code. It's usually pretty good. My only complaint with Brownells is the slowness with returns. I can take a month+ to get your refund or exchange.

Yep that's midway BS. Took over three weeks on one order. They sent it by dam boat.

I tried to order a basic scope this evening and they say

• Carrier regulations prevent us from shipping these products to your location.

I have had the same thing happen to me except I paid for shipping. Package has been in my city for 5 business days and is still not delivered. Another large package containing some targets came within 3 days of ordering. There are other companies that have fast shipping. Precision Reloading is one.
