I use to just click on my file and upload, but it gives me a file too large for server. what do I do to correct this thanks

I have a free account with Photobucket that works pretty well for me. For example:
copy_zpsxacgchnu.jpg

You can also just resize them so that they are aroung 500K to 1 mega Pixels first. This one is click and upload after resizing to about 800K. Then you can click to view large.

I ran into the same issue. I used tinypic for a while. The forum changed and I could just snatch off my photos storage and post. Recently, I started getting the "too big" thing but not all the time. Only every once in a while, tho. I can't figure it out.:(

Take your pictures and open them in "Paint".
The easy way to do that is right click on picture with mouse. Then select "Open with" Paint.
Now click on "Resize". Once the resize box opens click on little box that says "Pixels".
Input the number 600 into the "Horizontal" area (Vertical will auto set based on Horizontal) and click save.
Save the renamed image to whatever you like to either your desktop or your pictures folder as jpeg.

This method is almost identical to this listed link but, my method resizes based on "Pixels " versus "Percentage" method. I have never seen a forum yet saying the pixel ratio I use wont work.

The easiest way I've found, without having to edit/resize pictures was to upload them to my Facebook account (hold the jokeso_O) and then just copy the picture link and paste it here. I set my FB stuff to private, so anyone looking from the outside wouldn't be able to see the tons of gun related pictures I have ;).

It's like a photo bucket account without the glitches.

It's very frustrating for some folks(me) to try figuring out the nuances of computers.I quit trying to post pictures. Some work some don't.So,instead of getting bent,I go shoot something,or build something analog style!

Suspect, there'll be a day when pic resizing will be done with a site's program.Or whatever you call it?

Here is a link to the best and easiest way to resize pics ( and it's free). It Is Prish Resizer. It was a "Power Toy" on Windows XP, and it works flawlessly. You can also Google "Prish Resizer" if you want to 64 bit version. I have used it on Win XP, Win 7, Win Vista and Win 10.
After download, you won't see a new icon for the program. It appears when you hover your mouse pointer and RIGHT CLICK.
A menu appears with Prish Resizer, just click on Prish Resizer and it gives you resizing options.

It will resize to the size you want, and place the picture in the same folder as the original pic, and rename it. You can also batch resize, and locate the new pics in any folder you want. It is a terrific program, easy and quick to use.

I generally resize to 1024 or 800 to post on forums or to include in emails.

I use it every day, and would be lost without it.

I was always shown to right click the picture after it is on the computer, and open with microsoft paint. Resize the picture to 20 or 25 percent, and they go on here no problem.

I have always wondered if there is an easier way, may have to try some of the suggestions above.

Yeeup! That'll git-er-dun!

I'm sure half the problem I'm having is I'm unwilling to get my laptop back from the wife that nabbed it.
Been trying to do it on my smart phone

Cloud, Don't know if you can do it on a smart phone. But photobucket will sometimes give two different image URLS. This will not work with the forum. You have to go in and change the "address" to what the forum wants.

I don't use the forum buttons to add a pic. It is easier if you do this. You should be able to get the image URL from photo bucket or clicking on the photo. It should look something like: http://b21.photobucket.com/albums/h182/pdhntr/2303.jpg.

Once you have the image URL correct, you need to add [] with IMG inside to start, and [] /IMG at the end. No spaces. Try it. If it doesn't work you need to pick the correct URL from photobucket.

You can add a pic just by typing in the correct URL with the "on" and "off" brackets.
