Upgrades to the web site..

Ogre,

I see what you mean. I will look into this. Keep in mind we moved over hundreds of thousands of records from one Forum system which had no known escape path -- no one on the planet had ever successfully extracted all the data and placed it in a different format. We were lucky to be able to salvage the old PMs at all. I think whats going on is that the PMs, as we were able to export them, only showed the "owner" field. But I will look into it.

As far as NEW private messages go, the ones I've tried have worked fine. Recipients got the message each time. Please note, this Forum software does NOT save outbound messages by default. You need to set your preferences as follows:

Start with "My Messages" tab >
On the left you'll see "Preferences" >
Click on "Change Settings" >

Now tick the box "Save a copy ... in my outbox by default"

You may also want to select "Remove the inbox label when applying another label"

I'm sorry the PMs are not showing the recipients, but as I said, we went into this conversion being advised by the experts that PMs would probably be unrecoverable. And the reality is that you can often figure out the recipient from context or a name reference in the message if you really need to send them a PM. But we will see if there is some way to restore the "sent to" party in the original Private Messages.

If this is a "medical emergency" type situation I can go back to the old board and try to recover recipient names for you.

Paul , I am haveing a little trouble getting around this site now. Not being a computer guru it is not user friendly. k80skeet

Can you be a little more specific about things that aren't working for you?

There are a lot of features on the board, many not so obvious.

I think its great, very easy to navigate. Now that "total time logged in" notice at the top, on the other hand, is not good. Now I will know how much time I spend here, and that is a scary thought.... ;)

What about the blackberry issue? The old site worked fine. This one I can not see any pics.

Could you indicate which images are not displaying. We imported about 3500 attachments. Before they had a thumbnail. The thumbnails didn't survive the import, but you can still click on the attachment titles and view them that way.

Can you give an example of a thread/topic that is not displaying pictures? Not having a blackberry it's to replicate this issue. I do doubt that you'll be able to do much with the B-Berry's tiny screen.

do members have to be online in order to recieve a pm? i tired sending one in regardes to an older classified post and have been unsuccessful. there is a red x next to his name and shows that he is offline. all my old messages transferd over fine. even the ones i had deleted. lol. btw, i think the fourms better, but not as good as some of the others i frequent. to be honest as of right now i kinda like the older one better.

No, they do not need to be online. The red x is just there in case you added the wrong member by accident. You could then click that button to remove them from being a recipient.
