Upgrade the reticle on my Razor HD 5-20x50?

Dear users of the Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 (gen 1 or 2)...think its worth upgrading my EBR-1 reticle to the EBR-2? Vortex will do it for $300 and not sure if its worth doing or not. I like windage holdovers for follow up shots in wind at distance. Anyone have experience with the EBR-2 or both? Thanks in advance. Jesse

I had a Razor gen 1 with the EBR-1 reticle. It's ok for steel or large paper targets but really sucks for precise aiming on paper targets since its FFP the crosshairs are fairly fat at max power and their is not a void in the centre of the crosshairs. I don't see $300 of benefit in the EBR-2. If you need the void in the centre I could see you upgrading.

Currently I have no issues with precise aiming, and regularly shoot paper at long range as well as 5"gongs at 600 yrds. I'm never on max zoom because it takes being backed off on magnification to spot your own hits at 600yrds with the heavy recoiling 308 so reticle thickness is perfectly fine fine for my use. I wanted it for the lateral subtensions below the center line for correcting wind hold more precisely. However, I've realize that unless I have underestimated the range, the bullet splash will be to the right or left of center, not below allowing me to use the added subtensions. still like it but not worth the money.
