Upgrade Stock Options for Tikka ctr

Mark M.

Silver $$ Contributor
Just bought my first Tikka ctr 223 for target and varmint, looking to upgrade the stock without breaking the bank, if possible.
Something with pillars would be great,
What should I look at, thanks Fellas

There are many options for the tikka. Depending on what you want, you could go with one of the chassis or McMillan, manners, ag composites,Boyd's or any of the other stock makers

GRS makes a nice one. I have one I was thinking of selling but it’s for a T3. It won’t work for the CTR. Different bottom metal cut. You could look at my “Do it yourself stockmaking “ thread and make your own.

Have you tried the rifle with the existing factory stock?

I purchased a Tikka T3X, 223 Rem varmint model in February and mine shoots terrific, under 1/2 moa, with 60 grain Vmax bullets. The vertical pistol grip is a great addition to the T3X and comes standard with the varmint model. I did remove the flat forearm attachment since it didn't work well for me shooting off a shooting cross stick but for bench guys it should work great.
