Upgrade from Arken SH4 GEN2 6-24X50mm

I've been shooting with this scope for a few months and like a lot of things about it. First, its a lot of scope for the money, the best one I've had on one of my guns. The turrets are by far the best I've ever used. They feel great and track precisely. Its the first scope I've had with a zero stop and I think that's a must have feature for me from now on. The sight picture, at most settings, is bright and clear. The only issue I've had is the eye box is pretty critical. That wouldn't normally be an issue, but I'm wearing trifocals now and its a problem with this scope.

I'm looking to upgrade -- I'd be perfectly happy with this scope with better eye box so I'm not looking for a massive upgrade in optics, just something more forgiving. This was a sub $500 scope, how much more do you think I would have to spend to get similar optics with better eye box and eye relief? Any recommendations?

I don't have any scope recommendations, but I would recommend you try shooting or just using another rifle with a different scope. You may find that you have to get use to the trifocals. When I first got bifocals, I had the same issue. I never could seem to get my focus just right. Now when I put my cheek on the stock everything is fine. You don't have to go to the range, you can practice inside the house.

All scopes are a bit different in the eye box department, and you will have the same issues with a
scope costing in excess of $1000 or quite a bit more. You most certainly will need to get used to
the optic and there are some with a more forgiving eye box...Sightron comes to mind.
I like the eye box on most of the ones i have used. Nightforce has a tight eye box..its harder for me
and my eyes to get comfortable behind the Competition model....but you can get used to it with some
repetition and use.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 30 year old Leupold 2x8 variable that is a lot easier to use. Is the higher magnification of the Arken an issue with longer scopes?

Its not the higher magnification per say,
Some optics have a very tight Eye Box
and some are more forgiving. Look at the specs and try to look through them before you purchase. At least look at the spec sheet.
