Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

So only a resident of Tennessee can win the state championship?

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

Out of State shooters can win the match and will be awarded the overall win with the Trophy and money. But the High Resident will claim TN State championship if not overall winner as well. A few states like that now. Spreads out the winnings and incourages out of state shooters to come spend a nice weeknd shooting with you. No lack of hard holders in that area thats for sure. What ever state your from.

Might try to gather up a few guys I shoot with and make the trip up for that match. What kinda turnout do you guys get for the state match?

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

Im going to leave confirmation to Froggy or Phil on this question as I have been going to the Fullbore Nationals which is the same week since 2010.
Really depends on the weather. Seems like they get rain alot on this weekend.. but if its not raining it ussually super super nice out in the fall.

RussT

This is not the F class State Championship however. That is at Tullahoma on a diffrent weekend. Also a great place to shoot and well run as well.

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

As Russ said, the TN LR F-Class State Championship is in Tullahoma, TN on 8/31-9/1 (Labor Day weekend) at AEDC. I am finalizing the program now, but it is listed on the schedule in our tracking thread here:

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

On average we get about 50 to 60 shooters. We have 30 firing point and it is limited to 120 competitors. If you have any questions I can always be reached phendra@tds.net.

Thanks

Phil

All matches on Sunday will commence firing at 9 am EST. Preregistration would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks

I don't know if you shoot sling or F class. In F-TR we got a pretty competitive field last yr. Lets see, last yr I think we had at least 3 if not 4 shooters who went on to win matches at the 2012 Nationals, the 2012 State champion in Mid and Long range, 2011 National Champion, 2011 3rd overall National, the 2012 National Champion, and the current F-TR record holder for 20 rounds.

I'm hoping we get good weather and the North Carolina and Alabama folks make it again this yr.

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

The plan is that some of us NC-VA guys are going to come for your May match.

Are you referring to Tullahoma or Oak Ridge?

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

I was referring to the Regional in Oak Ridge. I know that Dan, Jim and I all won matches at Raton, Jim won the 2012 title, Ronnie won both the state F TR mid and long range championships in 2012, Jeff won at Lodi in 2011, and Laura was 3rd over all at Lodi. Phil shot a perfect 200 at Butner late last yr. That's a pretty strong competition anywhere.

Re: Oakridge Sportsman Association Master Schedule & Dates

OK, I thought he was asking about the state match. Or at least it looked that way to me, since his question was, "What kinda turnout do you guys get for the state match?". We just need to be EXTREMELY clear that the F-Class LR State match for TN is in Tullahoma over Labor Day weekend...

http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3806978.0

...and that the LR State Match in Oak Ridge two weeks later is for Sling, but F-Class may also participate.

I shoot FTR. The Labor Day weekend match sounds good if work allows. Looks like about 10 hour drive for me, not too bad.
