UPDATE - RePainting a stock

I have a rifle originally done by Omar Alonzo and not sure who he had paint it, but I had the stock Doc install adjustable cheek rest and the finish paint work looks anything but finished. Can anyone suggest a good painter in the Detroit, MI? I’m thinking about having it paint in a metallic or pearl dark blue with a shiny high gloss top coat. You can see the area around where the stock was cut for the adjustable cheek rest that he just touched it up with a lighter blue color that bears a striking resemblance to 3M blue painters tape. Not exactly the finished look I was hoping for. I’ve also attached some pics of the rifle before I decided to have the adjustable cheek rest hardware put in.
Geez, after attaching the pics and zooming in on them, you can really see how shoddy the touch work was.

That appears to be a McMillan MBR Tooley.
They have good lines for a painter to highlight.

Can you help me with a user name or contact info? I didn’t find “Bz’s” in the member search.

Funniest part is we were already exchanging texts because he is coaching me on paint supplies for painting our bald eagle front rests. Small world.
Dave, it looks to me as your stock was candied over McMillan's marble finish.
I agree that the spot in repair looks like ass! To repair the job done I'd strip the stock and start over.
Problem in stripping is the texture in the grip area, this will need to be sanded smooth losing the McMillan marble.
Pick a color.

Who in the world considers that acceptable? You're in good hands and the right direction with @Bc'z . Not to my personal taste, but magnificent work.
If you really want to know PM me and I’ll tell you. Nice enough guy but the finish work around the the cheekrest install is truly unacceptable. Not to mention that the longer I have it like that, the more unacceptable it looks to me. Especially because the rifle shoots lights out.

Brett,
Seeing as how none of the paint is cracking and the top coat is in good shape; couldn’t we use an epoxy based primer, followed by the spraymax base coat, and then 4-5 coats of top coat??
Maybe I should ask what it would cost to have you repaint it??? Lol. Thanks Brett. Your advice will most certainly be taking very seriously and followed.

Actually that was a rhetorical question. I was questioning how any customers could be pleased with that result. You, or anyone else deserve far better for money spent. As I mentioned, painted stocks aren't my cup of tea but I respect others choices. I do enjoy seeing the panorama of stocks @Bc'z posts. Amazing work.

UPDATE - after talking with several great guys on this forum, I dove in to do the painting of my stock. First had to do a lot of dolphin glaze work and sanding. Then self etching primer, 4 coats of 1K blue metallic base coat and finished with 3 coats of 2K high gloss automotive clear coat. Have to wait a couple of days now for it to fully cure before the 1000 through 2000 grit sanding can be done. Finally, I intend to finish polish with Megs 105, followed by 205, and finally a hard coat ceramic based nano particle sealant. Her are some pics after painting and clear coat completed this morning.

I have had a couple of different folks do adjustable combs and texturing. None of them are painters. They have all done a great job of cutting the stock and installing the hardware. All the rifles have needed to be sent to a painter after the work was completed. I have made some attempts to paint the stocks myself but the ones sent to the guys that know what they are doing come out much better than I can do in my shop with the tools I have.
