Ok so the journey proceeds, the first target (paper plate) was done before the sights were calibrated, A2 front sight, tactical folding rear sight.
I wanted to make sure the rifle was worth the effort before I wasted the time, just because it's new doesn't mean anything. The target shown has two groups of 2 shots circled in red, horizontal zero was not achieved and as mentioned no calibration of the sights. The black stickers are 1/2", I figured it was good enough to move to the next phase.
No target shown, I set the rear adjustable site to 300 yards and adjusted the front site to achieve vertical point of aim impact at 25 yards and shot to a general windage.
The second target with the 8" yellow circle which was shot at 100 yards has a T created by me with painters tape at the 6 o'clock position as point of aim.
The second target shot at 100 yards has windage adjustment shots circled in green. The three stickers circled in red have 2 groups of 2 shots under them from a bench with the iron sights. Not too bad and after I get back from my surgery I'm moving the iron sights to 300 then if I'm happy I'll plot the drop from 100 to 600 yards in 100 yard increments. Then I'm going with a 1 to 8 tactical scope.
The shots circled in blue are me leaning against the pole supporting the range pavilion with my A2 in 5.56 NATO plinking with 855 green tip and iron sights. I wouldn't have pasted the holes except my son wanted to blast the crap out of it with his Stag Arms 15, which he did.
Rifle Aero Precision, 6MM ARC, Ballistic Advantage 16" barrel 1 in 7 twist, ammo Hornady 105 Black factory, A2 front sight Combat folding aperture rear sight, 2 stage National Match trigger.
