Up Date on Powder from new H-4895 post

made it out to the Range Tested 40+ year old powder, VS Dried 40+ year old Win-748 & Win Styanless SR primers. 204 Ruger, 40 V-Max,New Dogtown cases. Old W-748 avg 3801.5 fps 26 Criterion Match HV barrel. yesterday. Lo 3773.3 fps,Hi 3828 fps. Same Lot of cases, the DRIED Old W-748 primers Averaged 3849.8 fps ,Lo 3832 fps Hi 3881 fps for y18 cases. Seems Drying- Old Power " Speeds Up the Velocity. when weighing powder set FX120I w/ V4 to 27,79 grains,hoping to get 27.8 grains. Weighed 60 Cases, 1 was 27.78 grains, the Other 59 were Exactly 27.80 grains. Appeared to Even out charge weights. .In 6 BRA will use Sorted 1 or 2 time fired cases where the velocity difference is less than 25 fps Extreme spread , will try Slower New lots of H-4895 with B arts 105 Gunger & Berger 105 Hybred target . Hopefully these will increase Velocity too, from current 2725 fps to 2800+ fps to 2875 fps or more out of Bartlein28 " heavy Palma, .272 No turn neck, .105 freebore, Defiance tenacity action,McMillian U10-7 stock & Night Force 15x55 Competition scope.

I'm only getting 2750 to 2840 fps out of 28 " HV Palama Bartlein barrel

I put about 1/2 lb in a pan, put it in the oven at 100-110 degrees for 1.5 hours as a Trial

I’m my testing, powder will normalize to surrounding atmospheric conditions in less than 30 min, with 80% being in the first 15 min.
LT-32, LT-30, N-133, and N -135.
Velocity increase after normalizing is impressive in some powders.
I tested these short range powders because many of us load at the range and compound changes were eating my lunch.

So basically, if I have my hopper full for a few hours or days I should be as acclimated as it’s going to get.
