Uni-Throaters

I have a question about extending the throat of a commercially cut chamber. Can someone with medium mechanical skill extend the throat with one of PTG's Hand Uni-Throaters, or is the path to disaster. Their explanation seems fairly easy to understand and the procedure seems simple enough. I’m asking for experienced information before I mess up. Thank you, Jim

It certainly is doable, just be careful not to cut to much.
It is real easy to cut more than you want to with one of them...
A reamer stop would be a good investment...

The uni-throater comes with the chamber sleeve and adjustable lock nuts to control the depth of cut. You will need the bushings for the caliber to fit the bore. It comes with an extension handle so all you need to do is remove the barreled action from the stock, and you work right through the action.

Go slow, it doesn't take much to cut the throat. Use a dummy round, no firing pin or ejector.
