Unertl Blocks

On my M-70 build I know to place my Unertl blocks 7.25" from ring to ring location to give me 1/4" clicks
How would i figure out the height of the bases?
I plan on ordering my bases from Steve Earle, as he has the proper 70 series for my project

Any Help PLEASE???

Not only block height but position as well.

Remember ,although adjustable the scope must be pulled back into battery after each shot.

The spring is only for use on light recoiling rifles and 22's.

It will work on high power rifles but the scope returns to battery so fast you'll get clipped
in the forehead or shooting glasses.

You'll need to check for proper eye relief in the positions you shoot in. Bench,Prone etc.

I've used a Bushnell Bore Sighter, the one with the expandabe arbors.

On my model 70 target the rear base is on the
front receiver ring.
The front base is on the barrel.

My 200 yard zero works out to be 050 on the
Elevation Micrometer.
There is enough elevation with room to spare to get me to 300 yards.
This is the longest range I have access to.

I'd clamp the rifle in a padded support and use

Double sided tape and wood & or paper shims
to get the scope where I wanted it.

Rubber band or bungee cord the scope on.

Get the scopes cross hairs to be about 1 and 1/2
grid lines below the main line in the boresighter.

Measure you shim pack and order whats closest.

Unertl would custom make blocks if one asked.

Both height, length, hole spacing & radius.
Bridge mounts as well.

Regards & good shooting,

Steve
