Ultrasonic cleaner for barrel throat?

I tried it. I’ve had really good results using Citranox and SS brakes, it’ll clean back to bare metal with nothing else done on your part. The barrel however, did absolutely nothing. Zero. Clean solution when done. I don’t understand why it didn’t work.

Did you suspend the barrel above the sonic cleaner bottom?

I did. I tried letting it sit, I tried hanging it. Nothing seemed to make a difference. I’ve had good luck using glasses, beakers etc. for cleaning long things standing them up in my cleaner before. I bought a big vase, basically, to put the barrel in. I planned on trying again sometime but haven’t yet. I was really disappointed that it did absolutely nothing.

Glad you've tried it, outcome unfortunate though.

I'll probably attempt it too. Maybe a soak with C4 beforehand?

I use plain water in the sonic tank and then float another container in the water with the item(s) to be cleaned submerged in cleaning solution.

Maybe floating the cleaning container and suspending the barrel would do it?

I use Lemishine and Creme of Tarter (an acid) combo for my potion when cleaning brakes and brass. It cleans to bare metal quickly.

Have you tried it on a barrel?

No, just trying to make suggestions that might work.

It seems that your transducer vibrations are getting dampened by the time they get in the barrel ID.

It certainly seems that it should work, it's a solution that's never occured to me before this thread.

I haven't encountered carbon in the breach area that I couldn't remove with standard procedures.
