Ugly 700, now what to do with it

Personally, I'm partial to the Higher BC, 6.5 MM Bullets and absolutely LOVE Shooting, my Braked, 6.5 Creed with, Hornady 130 gr ELD-M's or, Berger H-VLD's / OTM's ( Low recoil and VERY Accurate at, 2,800 FPS, +)
I would have gone with, the 6.5-06 Ai IF, I had that Long, Rem 700, action ( Just my opinion ) and had me, an Extreme Range,.. Antelope / Deer/ Predator and LR Steel plinking Rifle,.. SUPREME !
.25-06 Ai would be, My Second Choice, for sure,.. BUT,.. either would Be,.. the E-Z Button !
Slightly BETTER, Barrel "Life" by, going to,.. the 6.5 Bore AND,. you could go Up to, the BEST BC, 6.5 Bullets,.. the 147 gr ELD-M's or 156 gr Berger Elite Hunters as, the 6.5-06 Ai, HAS, the Horse Power to "Drive" them,..
if, desired.

You have sound reasoning. I have that niche covered with other rifles though. 6.5 creed, 6.5PRC, 6.5 x47 and all of them are set up to shoot 130-156 high BC bullets. I had a 6.5-06 AI that was a great rifle years ago, so great my cousin ended up with it, he ended up with a few of my rifles. He passed away two years ago and now those rifles are who knows where. Tragic. Anyways, I get what you’re saying just doing something different here. Zack just built a 25 Saum improved for me on a Kimber 8400 with a Sporter barrel, same contour it came with. It’s also set up to shoot 110-115 grainers. I didn’t really plan on another quarter bore but this ugly rifle came down the pipe. After I sold the bottom metal I’m in it 118 bucks and thought WTH, why not. Couldn’t help myself.

I got 40 pieces of fresh Lapua 6.5-284 for ya.
I picked a bunch up from @Preacher I believe necks are turned down to .0115 for his 25 cal.
I'm still shootin Zacks old match brass

Nothing wrong with any 284 cartridge but the appeal of a .257 caliber using the 284 parent case is very appealing given the newest heavy bullet selection. I love my 6.5-284s and one is my most accurate rifle I own. Whether you get a 9 or 10 twist barrel for a 25-284 or a 7-8 twist, you'll love the cartridge. My 7.5 twist barrel still shoots the 110-120 grain bullets pretty darn well. Not like it does the 131-135s but .75 all day long.
