twist rate on .243

Has anyone tried using a twist of 1:9.25 and Sierra 107 MK in .243 Win? What was the result?

Why a 9.25 twist and not the 1 in 8 twist.Are you looking at a gun to buy used? Give us more imfo please and we can help you better.

Used a .243 Savage 12FV for F Class 3 years ago, 9.25 twist. Shot 107 SMK, RL25, Win brass and primers. Gave 3050 fps.

Won the Friday Aggregate (300, 500, 900, 1000) for Factory Rifle in the 2008 Ontario Championships.

No problem with 107 SMK in a 9.25 twist, very accurate out to 1000 yds. The 8 twist is for guys wanting to shoot the 115s.

I have a new Savage 12 Low Profile DBM in 243. I would like to try the factory barrel using 107 MK's if I know that they will stabilize. If they will not then I would sell the barrel in unfired condition and buy a 1-8 twist. I have the same gun in 308 and am very satisfied with it after a little tinkering. I plan to use the 243 in 600-1000 yd practice and maybe informal competition if I like the competition aspect. I might even try it on some long range coyotes. Thanks for your help.
