You need to establish what the barrel twist is, I have a 243 and it is 1 in 12 twist. If you don't know what your is, check it with a cleaning rod and tight patch, measure the cleaning rod to determine how far the cleaning rod moves in the barrel to get one complete twist. Do this by marking the rod at the barrel before pushing in the rod and after one complete turn of the cleaning rod mark again. Pull the cleaning rod out and measure the distance between the two marks on your cleaning rod and that is your rate of twist.

If it's a Factory 243 I'd say it's a 10 tw or faster maybe 9 1/2 . The 243 started with 10 twists VS the 244 (6mm Rem) in 12 TW the 6 mm was/is OK with lighter 87 or lighter bullets (varmints)but lost to the 243 for Hunting (90-100gr weights)purposes.

I have a Remington M700 chambered in .243 Win (original bbl) from the early 70's, and it is a 1 in 9.125" twist bbl.
