Turret Press Good enough

I only load 3 calibers,7mmRem,22-250, just starting with 6mmBR. I was going to buy the Redding T7 or the RCBS turret press, set my dies and forget about them for awhile. Gun shop told me they are not good enough cause they would flex seeing the turret is held down in the middle and pressure is applied on the front. Is this going to affect consistency?

I recommend the Forster Co-Ax Press. I have used one for years and have no regrets. It assembles excellent ammunition in Redding Competition dies.

The Hornady Lock-N-Load gives you set and forget with an o frame press, or if you already have something like a Rockchucker, it can be inexpensively converted.

I had a Lyman turret press and I broke the center pin. I bought a RCBS "O" type press and have been happy for the most part ever since.

I've been using the Redding T7 now for a few years. The turret is much beefier than the Lyman. I load for competition and look for concentricity as the deciding factor. So far my ammo is as consistant as with any single stage I've used. The convienence to me is worth the price. Having seven stations allows me to leave one open for a specialty die.

Been down this route..why a turret...set the dies once , rotate the head..problem was the oal kept changing..the turret head rocks because of the way it mounts..went with a forster...set the dies once and slip in & out of press..no oal change

I have all four of the die sets I use in LEE Breech Lock adapters and couldn't be happier! Plus, the press is stout and seems to be well designed. Don't cost an arm and a leg either!

I have a Dillon 550 that I've had for several years, never had one problem with. Has loaded 1000's of rounds of very accurate ammo. Set up dies once in toolhead and pull 2 pins to change to another load (about 10 seconds). If I were to ever buy another press it would be another Dillon.

The beefer turent loaders are fine. But I would consider gettng a Hornady or Dillon press. You can use it as a single stage turrent or as a progressive without spending much more money. I know many who load top quality ammo on either of these presses.

Based on the recomendations on this site I bought the Forrester Co-Axel. That thing is smooth as silk, using Forrester dies.
