Turbo V2 Benchrest Stock

A few months ago I posted my Turbo V2 with a new stock. Well the whole story is I have had this rifle for a few years wearing a Shehane ST-1000 stock. It was nice and shot well but the total weight of 15 pounds 2 ounces bothered me. The matches we shoot around here are very casual and no one bothers with weight but the weight of this rifle still bothered me. So, the stock I posted a few months ago came in at 12 pounds 15 ounces. Much better but still over the 12-1/2 pound weight. I started another stock shown here made from Spanish Cedar with a lot of balsa wood inside. This picture of the rifle and stock on my shop scale is 1 ounce over 12-1/2 pounds. I have a plan for that, stay tuned.

Here are some better pictures, the stock is Spanish Cedar with a balsa core and laminated with carbon fiber, Amboyna Burl for the butt.

Nice work John! The African mahogany I just got from you weighs out at 10lbs 9.6oz with a 25" .900 barrel & NF 42x. I'll need to shed a couple ounces but that won't be hard to do. Just got done bedding it.
