Tuners and Long distance shooting 1760+yards

Is there a benefit to using a tuner in conjunction with a gill break for this application ??
This is on a 338 build. Does a person have to tune to a specific weather condition ex- hot, cold, humidity?? As most ballistic programs account for this. So will a tuner be affected by weather condition and or barrel warming up???

Yes, yes and yes.

At its simplest, a rifle with a carefully tuned load is VERY similar to the same rifle tuned with a tuner. Both must have temperature and atmospheric conditions accounted for.
Without the tuner, you must use slightly different loads set for your range and conditions. Or, account for the difference by scope hold-over.
With a tuner properly tuned at your distance for proper compensation with data on tune changes as a function of Density Altitude, scope hold-over may still be needed, but less.

I find density altitude changes POI regardless if there's a tuner on the rifle or not . Both the same

But will a timer change " loose accuracy node once it is set" or will density altitude open or close your group.so how stable is a tuner once it is set for say 500 yards. Doesn't need to be changed for shooting 1000 yards or a mile or farther?

Tuners should not be effected by weather conditions. But your load is. With a tuner you can adjust for the condition changes . Without one your stuck the load you have.

Density Altitude effects both with or without a tuner. My point is, it is easier to adapt to a different range or different weather condition with a properly characterized tuner. And the best single metric to do that is D.A. The only other variable is the distance and if the load or tuner is tuned for positive compensation at 1000 yd, it WILL be different at 1670 yd.

Thanks very much
