Tuner adapters..1/2-28 and 5/8-24

I'm finally getting around to making some adapters for my tuners for barrels with 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 threads on them.
Lots of guns are coming this way now or have been threaded for a brake or suppressor in these threads. These are the only two I'm doing at the time.

Haven't set a price but I think $40-$45 on the adapters, as of now. If they go over pretty well, production cost might get a little better. Small batches at this time.

Great idea. I would advise people to make sure the adapter is good and tight. You don't want any slop to impact vibrations. Shouldn't be an issue if they're tight. It also mitigates the cost issue of having to cut the tuner threads on the barrel - a simple 5/8 ought to be a lot simpler than the tight tolerance fine threads. Might have to pick some of these up when my barrels wear out.

Rather than overtightening, I recommend only about 10-12 ft/lbs on them and a drop of blue or purple loctite. A 1/2-28 male thread on a 30 cal barrel only leaves about .070" wall thickness. It takes surprisingly little to distort the bore and just no need to tighten it much more than that, as long as loctite is used to prevent movement. Clean the threads, put a drop of loctite on them and snug it up good. Obviously, the 5/8 could take a little more but not needed. That's just my 2 cents and it might be worth less than that.

The supressor guys seem to use Rocksett, which as best I can tell is high temperature glue, and not all that much torque. I'm told it can be removed by soaking in water overnight.

I think you're right about the high temp. Suppressors hold a lot of heat and are often on guns that are rapid fired or just plain shot until cooking hot..and then some. It has a temp rating way beyond standard loctite stuff but, we don't need that kind of temp rating in our sport. If I have anyone that has trouble, I can simply tell them to use rockset...if they want. I no want, on my stuff.
Seriously, I believe the tension provided by 10-12ft lbs is enough, as long as purple or blue loctite is used. I'm a big believer in fewer joints, is better but gluing(or loctite in this case), along with the joint being under tension, is ample. They're working already without issues. I've made several as one off parts for a few years now. They just became sorta an inconvenience to set up for between other jobs that keep my manual lathe tied up. So, these are small batch cnc made.
