tune at 100 fell off at 200

I have never seen 200 yard targets that bad with a good 100 yard tune. I would go back to 100 and verify your information.
Yep. My guess is it's not tune related or that tune changed between testing dates at the two different yardages. I agree that I've never had a 100 yard load to dot up that stopped shooting for another 100 yards. Something more going on here is my guess. In fact, I believe we can tune for any yardage, at 100, for the most part. From a harmonics standpoint, the gun has no idea where the bullet is going once it leaves.

I have occasionally shot through through paper at 100 set up to then impact paper at the 200 yard frame against the berm, collecting 100 and 200 yard groups with the same bullets, barrel temp, rifle handling and wind conditions. The 100 yard target could be as thin as a sheet of paper. That eliminates some of the variables.

I have quite often seen a load--usually the low node--that would shoot well at 200, 300, and 600; go vertical at 1000. Where the high node--which may not have looked as good at short range--shoots better at 1000.
