Tula 7.62 Nato Primers

I am looking for primers for my M1a, AR10 and Scar 17. My first choice is the CCI 34, but I cannot locate any. Does anyone have any experience with the Tula 7.62 Nato primer. They are available and reasonably priced. Thanks, Ray

They will be OK. The only primer that I have ever had problems with in free floating firing pin rifles slam firing is Federal. I have used CCI 200, CCI BRs, Wolf LR, WW, REM with no problems. I have seen a number of people that tried Federal primers in these types rifles and they all had slam fire. Way back many years ago when I started loading for a M1 Garand I used some Federal 210M primers. First time to the range with the first clip I had the rifle double fire once. With the next clip on the second shot it tripled. A old timer was down the line and he came up quickly to me and without knowing that I was even using Federal primers he told me that "you can't use those Federal primers in that rifle." He explained that the cup is too thin making the primer too sensitive so when the free floating firing pin floats forward in operation of the bolt when it slams forward will set the primer off. Never had another problem when I went to other primers.

I have been using CCI brs without incident, but my supply is getting low. I have plenty of the Federal primers, but as everyone seems to say they are a definite no no with the semi- autos. I thought I would go to a primer with a harder cup as long as I had replenish my supply. Thanks, Ray

I am using both 7.62 and 5.56 Tula primers for Palma loads. The Lapua Palma brass loads show the same results as when I use BR4s. For Lapua .308 (large primer) brass I reduce the load .3 grain to match velocities of the small rifle loads and they give identical results on paper. Have had no mis-fires as of yet and the pockets are no more or less dirty than with any other primers tried.

They are? Where?
When I went place an order with PV I realized the primers that were in stock were berdan primers. The Tula boxer primers are out of stock. Thanks, Ray
