Lets see some tube guns. I have really got smitten with them and am seriously looking at an Eliseo for my next F/O rig in a 6BR for shooting 600 & less..

Any comments welcome..

There are several on the line at Sacramento, used in F-class and High Power. Seem to shoot well.

I have one and I'm a fan of the concept. I'm a sling shooter though. FWIW, the only shooter I know that that has both rifle types and shoots FO and sling said he prefers a flat bottom stock built for shooting off a rest when shooting FO.

TonyR, Ya saw that one a bit back. It in part why I want one, its a sweetie..

HPMike, I would think with the 3' adapter for the forearm, that shouldnt be an issue.. Part of the reasoning I am seriously looking at one of these beauties is the flexibility of classes a guy could shoot with forearm accessories and other minor equip changes...

Now, I would love to see some more pix than the ones I have already seen in the daily bulliten and on Germans site...

I am already thinking midnight blue...... ::) Dang its great to dream, eh?

Flexibility is an understatement. I have different bottom metals and two actions I switch out in one stock. They're stronger, safer and look like torpedo's. What's not to love. About the only device I don't have for mine is the benchrest accessiories.

As the stock comes , I can shoot 5/8 min groups pretty regularly off a bench. good enough, as most of my load development is done in matches. Jerry Terney won a big 600yd benchrest match with one! If it has a weakness it's off a rest.

Eliseo lightweight hunter, stiller predator, lilja 1-8 twist chambered in 6x47 lapua. These chassis are extremely comfortable to shoot. JP enterprises makes an mor chassis thats similar but heavy. I will post some pictures of the JP when I get it.
Gary Eliseo is great to deal with and makes a great product!

Also curious as who "does not" glue theirs in and why you decided not too?

Thanks,

Rod in Fargo, with snow on the ground again... What month is it? :'(

The weakness on the tube gun is fore arm tube, when used off a rest. It would flex on the three slots that let it turn. I did stop that by drilling 3 new holes in between the slots. This made it a lot better and i made a sled out of delrin and one for a rear bag and it worked well and it didn't give up anything.
There is too much clearance between the fore end tube and the tube that goes around the receiver to get a solid base to use off the rest but i guess it was not intended for that kind of use. I went to a Kelbly 1m stock and bedded the same action and barrel in it and the group size were cut by 1/3.......jim

The attached is a photo of a E1 switch barrel gun with 3 barrels.
one in 6mmBRX, 0ne in 6mm XC, and the third is a 6.5 X .284. All shot sub .4 moa.

If you plan too be compete at 1K with a .4 gun you will save a lot of ammo you will not make the shoot off that often...... it better be under a .25 min........jim

I use a MAK chassis with 3" delrin flat in front and an A1 stock with another delrin flat for riding the rear bags. it works well and the forearm is quite stiff. My only complaint is that the stock sits a bit higher than a traditional benchrest stock and I am guessing this is why it twists a bit more under recoil. If maximum F/O scores are desired, I think a traditional stock might work best. But my MAK works fantastic for F/TR with a bipod.

I am a sling shooter, I have three of the Eliseo chassies. I absolutely love them. I see no reason not to use them for at least F/TR.
