Tube Gun Question's

Hey guys any real benefit to a tube gun over a conventional style rifle?

wanting to build another rifle, I have a #4 sporter barrel on order. wanting to build a switch barrel type of rifle, for mostly hunting, fun target shooting, club ground hog matches, maybe even a F class shoot.

so I have been looking at tube guns. I really don't see much difference between, hunting, tactial,F class chassis. I mean it looks like a few attachments or different forarm blocks or but stock. I could go from hunting to F class, to even a fun shooting bench rest set up. But all I have ever seen is pictures.

can a trigger safety be used?

I use the Eliseo RTM. It is a switch barrel in two calibers. I use the Jewell trigger with the safety in the trigger guard. Mine is a target rifle (long heavy barrels) but I could easily switch to shorter lighter barrel.

Have been shooting "tube guns" for a number of years (both MAK and MDT Tac21) .
and have shot them competitively ( F Class and Precision Rifle) as well as informal field work.
Personally I find them more flexible to work with (multiple barrels, forends, stocks and grips) to adapt to
anything I would like .
Although I have built a number of "traditional" stocked rifles, I still find, personally, I shoot the tube the best.
More and more "semi" tube chassis are available (forend is a tube but action is not sleeved) and have built on one,but I like the "full tube" best.
I've probably built over a dozen tube guns over the years and will probably remain a fan of this style.
Try and get to "test drive a system" to see if you are comfortable with it .Find an owner that will let you
get behind one for a few rounds.....
good luck

The MDT Tac21 takes a safety

I started out with one of Gary Eliseo's R5 Model tube gun stocks which I had Gary hybridize into an RTS which uses the AICS mags. I can use this as a Highpower, Tactical, Hunting and F-Class rifle with no change to the fore end or butt stock, just change attachments and off you go. I also have an R1 prone stock that houses a Borden TubeGun action specifically made for Gary's stocks. Here is a pic with the third, and last, paint job.
