Tubb gun 6BR loads

Does anyone have any suggested loads for the 6mmBR,1-8") in a Tubb gun for "across the course" shooting?

Thanks

6BR in a Tubb 2000 is a nice set up for across the course. Im going out on a limb here and guessing that you looked over the 6BR loading data on the main page of this web site? Alot of the shooters are using the 95grain S Match Kings at the 200 and 300 yard line and switchig to 107's for 600 yard line. Berger also makes some good bullets for both yard lines. I have afreind who runs the 87 grain Hornady BTHP at 200 and 300 and then shoots 107 Sierra Match Kings at 600 yards.
You will have to test to find out, what works good in your gun. Make sure the Rapid fire rounds are not to hot as this could be problamatic to getting all your shots off in the time alloted., never a good time)

So how did you come about your screen name? Former Olympic shooter???

Alot of good 6mm bullets out there. Pick a couple, go to the Data page here and work yourself up some great shooting ammo.
Good Luck.

There is so little recoil involved with a 6mmBR, I would suggest you load the Sierra 107 MK's with 30 grains of Varget using a CCI-450 primer and shoot all ranges. That way there is no mix-up of ammo and only one load to work up.

Just my $.02.

Some guys do shoot 105-108 for all yard lines. I throated my gun for 108 Berger's to do just that. I was shooting Norma brass and the stuff is so sticky on extraction I went to 95SMK's for short line work. A lighter bullet with a moderate charge will help with rapids. I've worked up a load with 95smk's and 29.5gr Varget in Lapua brass. It feels good, but, I'll have to see how it works in a hot gun on a hot day. I don't know if full loads in Lapua brass is a hindrance in rapids or not.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the information as this was the kind of data I was seeking. The NRA high power,HP) game is one that has so much variety in a single course of fire that trying to determine what does and does not work in a variety of conditions could take a lifetime. This way I can get started shooting with considerably less research thus getting to the fun part sooner rather than group shooting.

It seemed to me a lighter bullet would theoretically work as well at 200y. and 300y. as the heavier bullets. Additionally, pushing loads during the rapids seems like a bad idea, which is why I wanted to hear what others use. I have checked the data page here but I knew what might work great in a benchrest rifle where time is not always a concern, may not be wise for a HP set-up.

This should be fun!

Olympian, i own a T2k LH in 6BR, i have been shooting it for about 3 years now and have come up with some reasonable loads. for 200and 300 i have been using 28g of AR2208 which is,varget) in the USA, with cci 450, 107 Sierra moly .020 off lands, with a .266 bush. for 600 i use 29.2 same powder & primer with 105 Lapua moly .020 in, soft seated with a .268 bush. Brass is Lapua, std flash hole uniformed to size, all FL every time in a redding FL bushing type S die, necks skimmed to 75% only. Brass life is exceptional, they have been trimmed once in around 15 reloads. i have found cycling tne action slowly may cause a mag fed round to jump out of the action, when cycling fast this does not occur, it has never happened to me during a rapid comp only experimenting in my shed. good luck, cheers from Australia, PeterB
