Tubb 6XC brass is made by???

Anyone KNOW for a FACT who makes Tubb's 6XC brass? I have been using Norma, but Tubb marked cases are quite a bit less.

I was told that Norma makes the brass, but after talking to a gent at Tubb's SSS company....who claimed he did not know who makes their brass???....I am wondering what the real deal is.

Anyone here using Tubb brass?

Anyone??

Take care,Stan

We tried it, several generations of it, didnt like it, scrapped it. I use Winchester 22-250 only and have never had an issue. I started with 6,000 pcs and unless I mangle them somehow, they go over 20 firings before I send them out to the scrap bucket. I have batches with just a few firings and I have others with lots more. Just depends on what I am going to use them for...big matches, practice, etc. No reason to use anything else than the Win stuff, imho.

Stan, the Tubb headstamped brass is made by MAST Technologies. I use the Norma 6XC headstamped brass and used Norma 22-250 before. Like John, I also had good results with the Winchester 22-250 but since I prefer to have the right headstamp on brass for reasons of my own, I stick to the Norma 6XC now. I tried the Tubb version and much prefer the Norma.

Thanks guys.
I just ordered up some more Norma...I like the correct head stamp also.

On a side note...I have been VERY disappointed in the customer service I have received from Tubb's company. I have called there 4 times and it seems like no one knows anything about what they sell.
First call was for load data for the 115 DTAC's. Next was another call about the 115 DTAC's. 3rd call was about the T2000 Spec-Tac-LR rifle...just wanted to know availability, price, options, etc. No one seemed to know anything about it!?!
This last call was about the brass.

So far this lack of knowledge has potentially cost them the sell of a rifle and at the least some brass.

Just a thought when dealing with 6XC brass.

Check the dimension right above the extractor groove of the various headstamps of 6XC brass. Then compare it with your reformed 22/250 brass.

Quite a difference isn't there!

The Norma brass, while of excellent quality) is quite a bit larger in diameter at the head than the reformed 22/250 brass from Rem or Win.

This difference is sufficient to cause extraction problems if your chamber was cut for the smaller Rem/Win brass.

Put a mic on the brass and see for yourself.

Have a batch of Tubb brass 2 months old. Very uniform neck wall thickness, just shot my best ever Long Range score with it. Have a batch over a year old with 1100 loadings and primer pockets still tight.
