truly "special" .44 special

Why are you looking at a snub nose? Are you planning to use this as your carry gun / last resort?

Regardless of factory loads or powder puff loads, a 4” barrel on 38/357 has a better balance and sight radius, while still being easy to maneuver.
Yes, it would be EDC rotation and might become the EDC rotation. And to fit in the designated carry location requires an 8" OAL limitation.

The common sense side made the best argument. I've ordered the 1774 GP100. It makes the most sense as I have dies, powder and primers for it and the ammo I'll order will be good in my dad's M13 as well. So with luck this weekend I'll pick it up but probably more likely Mon/Tue it will arrive.

GP100 is a good one!

I’m on the fence with a gun, right now. It’s a nice Ruger in 44 Special. The problem is it has a 2 inch barrel. I gave it to my cousin and he gave it back to me. I thought about selling it but I decided to try it out and see if I like it. I ordered some new brass and when it comes in, I’ll put some loads together and try it out. It might be a nice little hand cannon.
Is it the Alaskan?
If yes, it's one of the guns I regret selling. I loved that darn thing.
