Yup, not a good day here. He's a total bozo but keeps getting the votes. A big problem with this is that gun ownership isn't on most peoples radar up here, nothing like down in the US. I worry that it's unlikely any future government would even overturn this handgun ban, not enough people care for them to go through the effort and chance angering people who don't know any better and think it is a good policy. Sad, sad day, very depressing.

Exactly this. Their wishes have zero to do with crime. They want to defund the police as well. Wide open borders, well as least in the U. S. It's not about crime. That's a facade.

It's a real stretch to imagine dumping on everybody somehow corrals the most-violent in society. But, hey, that's the way the anti-gunners roll. They can't seem to get at the violent criminals, so they effectively go after everyone with the big brush and the broad strokes. Irrespective of the fact it reduces or eliminates the ability of the upstanding to protect their very lives.

I was born in Canada, went to HS there and saw the writing on the wall back then in the 60's. Became a US Citizen, went to RVN and after coming home from the war, I went back to work there as a welder in logging camps to take advantage of the hunting opportunities. Three years of being exposed to the "new" order of firearms laws then in effect, I moved back here forever and will never, ever live there again. I'm a CCW holder and have carried legally here for over 35 years.....something unheard of in my native Canada. My remaining family there wishes they had the 2A.

Moral to me: Most here do not fully appreciate and realize just how good we have it here unless you live somewhere else OUTUS and see for ones self. God Bless this country, I just hope we can keep it.

Well Canada and England have been that way for a long time. Remember the scads of arms we sent to England prior and during WW 2 because they did not have enough of their own domestic production due to firearms laws? And the beat goes on!!
