trimming cases

I have never done it that way but theoretically, depending on the design of the trimmer, as long as the primer is seated properly, I don't see why it couldn't work assuming you get all the brass filings out of the case after trimming.

However, I never like messing with a primed case during case prep. I go directly from priming to charging to seating. I keep all case prep separate from the priming, charging, and seating operation. I always err on the side of safety. Therefore, I cannot recommend trimming a primed case.

Primer in the case has nothing to do with trim length.
Best to know your ACTUAL chamber length BEFORE you think about trimming.
Most reamers cut chambers about .020 LONGER than MAX trim length.
Measure and know YOUR chamber length.
And with the proper designed resizing dies, trimming will be at a minimum, if needed at all.

I size and prime on a progressive press. is it ok to trim with the primer in the case ?
You probably loading on dillion with case trimmer die after sizing yea don’t worry especially if you’re using vacuum on trimmer
