Trimming 32 H&R Brass ???

Trimming the brass won't affect Cartridge OAL; seating depth does.

If your COL is too long, seat deeper.

I don't know of too many handgun cartridges that need much (if any) trimming; they don't tend to grow much.

Some bullets require the cases to be trimmed shorter than normal. Those poly-tipped bullets from Hornady are one example. With an overly long lead bullet you may not have to trim the cases shorter, but you may have to crimp over a shoulder instead of a crimp groove. This will probably require a reduction in the powder charge because of the reduced internal volume due to the bullet being seated deeper.

Does anyone trim their 32 H&R brass
because off the length of lead bullets
making the COL longer than 1.350” ?
Trimming to make length or seating deep to make length, both will change case capacity. Keep that in mind what ever way you go. The 32HR and 327 can get spikey with some powders.

Thanks to all that responded, I put this question forward in a couple of forums
and it is the opinion of most to just crimp to the crimp ring and if the longer bullet
fits in the cylinder and doesn't impair the operation of the gun then use the longer
bullet.

Thank you, so far you are the only one that has mentioned case volume and that is my concern as well.
