Trijicon Scopes

Well it looks like the Nightforce is off the table. Too much jam for me, unless I can get one discounted. Anyone have any experience with Trijicon Scopes??? Again, looking to mount on a SIG556.

This months Precison Shooter had an article on the 5-20x50 Trijicon with very favorable comments regarding optical quality and precise adjustment.

Thanks for the heads up on the Precision Shooter article. A local guns store had some trijicons in stock along with a Leupold Mark 4. The Trijicon blew the Leupold away in both clarity and brightness, I mean it was not even close, it was scary. I ordered the trijicon today from Optic Zone and took advantage of their fathers day sale. I'm looking forward to mounting it on my sig556. I'm intrigued by the radioactive isotops in the scope that light up the reticle.

Looking forward to adding a 1.5-4X24 with the amber tirangle reticle to one of my ARs. I love the Reflex II dot sight on my 9MM Colt Carbine. The luminous gas is made up of an isotope of Hydrogen and has a Half life of approx. 12 years. My Reflex has not lost any appreciable brightness over the last 6 or 7 years, and the fiber optic enhancement built into the sight keeps it as bright as is necessary for outdoor or illuminated indoor work. Likewise it is even useful with NVGs without flaring on black out maneuvers.

dlong:

I am considering SIG556 and I would like to hear your experience with your trijicon reflex sight on it.

I'd be interested to see if there is anything you would do different on it now that you had a chance to have it for a little while.

I have been leaning strongly towards Aimpoint Comp ML2.

Thoughts?

I have the SIG 556 DMR with a Trijicon 5-20x50MM scope with red triangle. I shot the gun for the first time this past week. It is very different from what I am used to. Have been shooting cooper bolt actions for the past 4 years. I shot the 556 using the Harris Bipod that it came with. totally different that shooting off a front and rear rest. After about 50 rounds I was getting maybe 1inch groups at 50 yards. Nothing to write home about. Gun is wicked loud and it chewed up the brass on ejection. I dont even know if I can reload the brass. I was shooiting Remington UMC 223 55gr fmj. Gun has a 10 twist so 55gr should be fine. Maybe I have to adjust the gas piston?? This gun is all new to me so I'm still in the learning phase. I still have to learn to like it. I like the scope. The red triangle is a little wierd. I did look through the mil dot but the illuminated dot was so small it was barely noticeable. Trijicon is nice and clear and bright. The jury is still out on this whole black rifle thing.
