Trigger weight for PRS shooting

Crickets huh. I was kinda curious about the consensus on this one. I don’t do any “competition” shooting. I’d say 2lb or a little under, for any rifle that a guy is actually shooting, as in the shooter plays a role, not in some joystick mechanism, only touching the trigger. Trigger techs great.

FWIW, Precision Rifle Blog mentioned that the competitors with Timney triggers were running them between 8 and 12 oz. I would think it's a reasonable assumption that competitors with other triggers were fairly close.
Personally, that's a little light but only by a few oz.

Comes down to what you are comfortable with as an ND at a match will end your day early and be worse than having it too heavy. I wouldn’t make it any lighter than what you use now and start shooting and adjust accordingly.

For the survey, I set all my single stage match triggers at about 1.25 pounds.

All my PRS cf and rf are set at 11oz. I started in the 1.5lb range and went down. Over time you will notice that heavier triggers will lose you points in weaker positions where you are not as stable.
If yku are new start at or just above 1lb until you get used to it and go down.
