Trigger upgrade for Ruger M77 Mark II?

I recently picked up a Ruger M77 Mark II in a 25-06. I have had a few older M77 with the tang safety that had decent trigger once adjusted. I don't see any adjustments that wouldn't require a file and spring swaps. Anyone with recent experiences with current upgrade options? I prefer 1 1/2 - 2 lbs with no travel... :)

Thanks, Tim

The Rifle Basix is an excellent trigger for the Ruger. I have both a Timney and a Rifle Basix and I like the Rifle Basix better. Its easier to install and I think has a better range of adjustment and feel.

Mk11 here also , had what felt like a 10 lb. trigger so I went looking for a replacement. Not much to choose from and had seen instructions on a d.i.y. trigger job so I figured what the heck. Very easy to do and worked very well. Might be worth the 20 minutes.

I put Timney’s in mine, adjusts perfectly to 2lbs or less. I actually order the pull weight I want.
Some fitting is required to clear the safety, it is NOT a drop in.

Cheers.

I have a few old tang-safety Rugers and I put in Timneys many years ago. Big improvement and no desire to change.

Agree on this. I did the same to mine. Wasn’t hard to do but if you are not sure do what the other posters said. Nothing wrong with an after market trigger either, you can adjust them up or down according to your needs.
