Is it safe to tune the Jewell trigger in my turbo and checking by leaving a fired case in the chamber? I'm wanting to lightning it a bit more and hope it'll help my horizontal stringing as I feel I'm pulling the rifle just a tad.
If it's a cone breach you will ding the chamber if you don't have a fired case in the chamber and dry fire the gun. Even if it's not a cone breach I would still use a fired case in the chamber if you plan on dry firing.
Other than wind, your trigger pull is one of the primary causes of horizontal when shooting free recoil. Just by moving your finger around to different positions on the trigger to let a shot off you will see how much of an impact your trigger pull has with a rimfire.
I would rotate the fired case after a couple of hits .
Interesting. I am not experienced with your action and its extraction setup, but I hav had a number of barrels installed on commercial production actions with a variety of match chambers that all extracted cases that were originally fired in that rifle. That won't work in my chamber. I tried that and the bolt won't catch and pull the brass out.![]()
