Trigger Hanger

I have a Shilen DGV action that uses pins for the trigger to be attached directly to the action. Is it possible to change to a trigger hanger system? I've also got the barrel nut system and I'm thinking of changing that to a switch barrel setup so I don't have to remove the action from the stock to swap barrels.

Is this all doable, or should I just go ahead and get a Panda or something?

Thanks.

Dennis

Changing the Shilen to a trigger hanger would more than likely be cost prohibited...
No problem with the trigger the way it hangs now is there ??
Set each barrel up to your action and switch away without the nut..

That'd be my first suggestion.

Even if you've got the machinery and time available to do the work yourself, assuming you're capable of modifying the action in a manner that's both appropriate and safe when completed (trigger-to-firing pin geometry is critical) you still end up with a bastardized action that's likely going to have less resale appeal if you then decide you're not happy with it.

(I bought a Kimber SVT several years back that I tried to make into a gallery rifle before I came to understand the logic behind the sentiment I'm trying to alert you to. The barreled action itself still functions just fine but I'd need to get it re-stocked before even attempting to find a buyer for it. So it's a safe queen now.)

Thanks for the replies, folks! I'm not having any trigger problems; just thinking out loud. I guess my next project will be to have the barrel nut system reworked to a switch barrel setup. Just need to find a good gunsmith.

I guess that it boils down to the kind of shooting that you do with this rifle. If you are not careful, you will end up with a money pit. Many times it is better to sell what you have and buy what you want.
