Trigger for BAT M

I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this. I have a BAT model M and was planning on putting a Huber 2 stage w/ bottom safe in it. I had to remove some material off of the hanger to get the trigger to fit. After I removed enough material, I found that I couldn't get the back screw into the hanger to keep the trigger up to allow the firing pin to set.

Will any 700 trigger (except for a bottom safe) work in the BAT action or do I need to look for something special? I'm leary of Jewel because I had one and blanked 3 primers in my 6.5x47L and it locked it up.

Thanks

Almost everyone that competes in short range Benchrest, including The Legend, Tony Boyer, uses a Jewel trigger. That's how well they're thought of.

I shoot about six months out of the year along side Arnold. If you have a problem, his son, who now runs the shop, needs to know about. It's possible an inexperienced gunsmith or someone else installed it incorrectly.

I've used two Jewel 1 and 1/2 ounce triggers on two of my rifles, for two years now, and they've performed flawlessly. Here's the point of contact:

JEWELL TRIGGERS. INC.
3620 Hwy. 123

When you blank a primer it forces the firing pin back into the bolt with so much force it will break the lever under the sear.
I have broken Jewell's as well as Rifle Basix triggers so its not brand specific.
If your load keeps blanking primers you can bush your firing pin hole in your bolt to a smaller size for around $70.

Well, the problem occured on my 6.5x47L. I've since had the firing pin bushed and sold the Jewell. I guess it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I've been using the Huber 2 stage and really like it.
