TRG-22 field trip

Saturday I tested some new 308win load in my TRG-22 at my private range.

The Saturday before I tested the 155scenar and 47gr N-11 Norma powder, and when the barrel got hot the group opend real up.

This trip I tested 155scenar and 46gr N-11 and a soft N-150 load at 387meters.
A TRG friend from Norway gave me a hot tip about a real accurate 155scenar load.
The load was 155scenar and 44gr N-150 seated at 73.8mm and give about 835m/s.

I started to test the 155scenar and 46gr N-11 load and got average 50-60mm 3shoot group at 387meter.

All the test shooting was done prone, using bipod and a beanbag.

So why the 155grain Secnars and not the heavier 167grain Scenars or 185grain Secnars?

Good question,
I am afraid that I don't have any good answer to that.

155scenar vs 167scenar= 155 scenar have better BC.
155scenar vs 185scenar= you can drive 155 bullet a lot faster.

Yes, with about 46gr N-550/185scenar you can duplicate the MV like my 44gr N-150/155scenar, about 835m/s.... but will this load be just as accurate?

I was just curious if there was a more specific reason. 155gr Scenar's have a better BC then a 167. That's interesting. But what is the difference in BC between the 185grain bullets and 155grain bullets? I know the Berger Corporation makes a 155vld adn 185grain VLD and the difference in BC is substaintially in favor of the 185grain. Berger says it's 155grain VLD has a BC .484 and the 185grain VLD about .569. So I figured Lapua's Scenar's had a similar BC relationship. So I was curious as to what 155 Scenars, since most long range shooters of the 308Win in the US seem to love the Sierra 175's or other similar High BC bullets. I know Palma Shooting uses the 155 but they also use a 30 inch barrel to achieve nearly 3000fps to buck the wind. I was curious as to what reasoning behind the 155's is it all Velocity.

Thanks for answering... And you're Sako TGR-22 looks like a great shooter.
