Trail cameras for dummies

Looks like my aging trail cam is giving up(uses sd cards). Would like to replace it with one that will send images to my android phone so as not to disturb the area. Would appreciate advice on how to do this and what to use. thx.

No help here but I know the feeling. My son ran ours and now he's off to college and I dont know sic'em about our failing cameras. Friends have been asking if I have any nice buck pictures, and I tell them I don't believe its fair chase to run cameras Lol!

I have a couple of Browning cameras connected to Verizon and have been very happy with them and the customer support when I needed some help, Would strongly advise putting a rain shield over your camera. Made mine from plastic 5 gal bucket split in two, so made 2 rain shields from one bucket.
Actually I just remembered that Browning is having a sale right now so you might contact them directly at 888-618-4496.

Wish I had thought of that! In my case not so much for rain, as it will work to keep the coon from repositioning the camera and perhaps one of these days from breaking it. My only concern is how much it may lower my cell signal? I have a slick system for mounting them on rebar which eliminates the coon being able to climb up and disturb them. I much prefer them higher in a tree though for the purpose of not spooking older bucks when they flash.

They are all real easy to understand and operate for the most part the Browning Camera's are difficult to get set up and the monthly service on them is triple of what the others are.Pops has the stealth cam and it seems to work really well and takes really clear pictures. The going Camera now is a Tactacam Reveal camera it was sold out the last 2 years but when I was at Cabelas the had a huge shipment of them last week.

The above is from a buddy of mine that has one.

I have covert cameras but all my buddies have stealth cams and they are simple. I even have a 90yr old buddy in my camp that set his up. No need to worry about going to the provider for an add on plan just pick one that works in your area.

Stay far away from Spypoint. I got 1 months worth of pics and it stopped sending. Their CS is useless. The cam was only 300 yards away in wide open from the cell tower. Luckily I only signed up for the free 250 pics per month just to try it out. Many others were not so lucky. It is not even reliable as a basic non-cell cam. I'll stick to non-cellular cams as I have had great luck with Bushnells and Browning that are several seasons old and remain out the entire year.

I am not a tech whiz but have not found the Browning cameras difficult to set up; you can just go with default settings and do just fine. Don't know what other companies charge for service but mine is less than $20/month for 2 cameras with a 2400 picture cap. IIRC the Browning sale was even better. It is worth checking out.
Dusty, I had a Covert which worked OK but the pictures weren't very sharp, didn't like dealing with their subscription service and mine ate batteries pretty fast, like 2-3 months. My Brownings go almost a year on 2/3 the batteries.
