Top rated dasher bullets in 105gr class.

It seems a lot of time has passed with the Dasher being Top Dog (so to speak). I am building one and have some questions about currently available bullets in regard to getting my reamer made.
In the 105gr class of projectiles normally used in 600 and 1000yd bench rest competition are there any that could be described as excellent/good for varmints such as Fox/ground hogs/ coyotes, NOT Deer?
I don't need something to blow the smithereens out of a G Hog per say but give a great enough wound channel to ensure a quick demise.
My interest in them is retaining there usually superb accuracy and also being useful in the hunting fields

I have read here that some think the Berger VLD/Hybrid is great, some say NO to it's hunting/varmint characteristics. I have no idea !

Not interested in lighter bullets than the 100gr class of projectiles.

I'm also interested in hearing what people use. I use Sierra 107 M.K's for long range squirrels. I have not shot a coyote or other critter with them at distances over 500 yards - just squirrels. They work but as expected, don't open quickly to deliver the kind of results you get with a varmint bullet. Slows 'em down for the next shot well enough when hit poorly.. A shooting buddy uses 105 Hornady AMAX'es with results slightly better. The larger the critter, I'm sure there is an increase in performance. I would expect some sloppy exit wounds on coyotes unless WAY out there.

A shooting buddy of mine just recently came back from a PD shoot in Montana and he took his 6 Dasher that he normally shoots 105 Lapua Scenars in at the matchs here in Pa. He simply switched to 105 A-Max with a little fine tuning and shot 3-4 Pd's over 1000 yards with longest hit @ 1187. That is the bullet I would use for LR Varmint hunting and the good thing is that Hornady has had a recent run of the 105 A-Max and they are appearing on shelves again..

My thanks to 40Xguy and searcher, all information is good and both of you seem to understand what I'm trying to do. I am trying to build my bullet base on the type of hunting I do for "this" reamer.
Once I can establish what projectiles I want to use and what I can do without I'll have what I am looking for relative to bearing length and end of bullet to make the necessary decisions.

You might want to experiment with the 87g class bullets also, there's a vmax and Berger vld in that weight, a bit more speed always helps expansion.

I would try the 105 Berger VLD hunting bullet …. That is a thin jacket……… jim

Thanks Jim, I'm pretty sure the Berger you are talking about is the 105gr VLD hunting Part # 24528, if I'm wrong please tell me, and thanks for the reply.

mshelton: Right now I am trying to establish the bullets that will be best for the new reamer.
