Top Quality Brass Prep Machine

Been looking for a machine or machines to do my brass prep work. I have been doing it by hand for years but it seems like the older I get, the more I want to shoot and less I want to reload. I looked at the Hornady case prep machine and was almost ready to buy one but then decided to look up a review......some guys love it but overall, it looked a little cheaply made. I am looking for a quality built unit that can help me process my brass and not take forever and not hurt my aging hands. Also, I recently bought a LEE primer installer and really did not like the way to it wooks. Does anybody have any suggestions on a primer installer that is fast, easy to use and good quality?

Clean with stainless steel media, resize with your favorite die, then trim with the Giraud and reload.

Primer seating with many of the tray seaters works well and use a Redding Mic seating die. Done. Go shoot.

For my own match ammo I have a couple additional steps, but if you aren't that particular, this will do it.

I use Sinclair's power station and have been happy with it. Expensive but should last a lifetime. The motor is quiet and powerfull as advertised. Take a look at Century 21 priming tool. Similar in design to the Lee Auto Prime only CNC machined.

For priming, I use the RCBS APS strip primers. I prefer the bench or press mounted version, but I have the hand priming version also so I can prime while watching a ball game.

For the last 7 years or so, I have been using the RCBS Trim Mate. It has 5 rotating stations arranged in a circle and I can do the primer pockets, chamfer, deburr and pop the flash hole chad in a non-Lapua case.

When I process new virgin brass from Winchester, I use 4 of the stations: primer pocket uniformer, chamfer (with VLD bit) inside the case mouth, deburr outside case mouth and pop the chad.

When I trim brass (Winchester or Lapua) I just use two stations: chamfer and deburr.

When I process military brass, I use the fifth station, the primer pocket decrimper.

I have not used a hand tool for brass since getting this machine and I have processed thousands of cases with it.

I looked at the Hornady and RCBS machines and just decided to upgrade my old RCBS lathe style trimmer.

I now neck turn, trimm de-burr, and chamfer, all on the same machine. Cases are cleaned in SS Media so I don't have to mess with primer pockets any more. Takes only a moment or two to change the heads on the "Trimmer" to switch between neck turning and trimming using the 3-way Carbide tool.

Collet die for neck sizing so no lube to deal with.

I was not aware of the carbide tools, thanks for pointing those out. I will get some for my Trim Mate.

Edited to add: Crap, they don't have a carbide VLD deburr.
