Well to make a long story short, I sold my weatherby in 223 rem. Took the money and bought a 33" Bartlein blank from bugholes.com in 7mm at 1.25" diameter and a 9 twist. My 6.5x284 will now become my straight 284 win. with a finished 32" barrel onto a rem 700 action, with a McMillan mbr tooley stock. I have 3.5# of h4831sc, 115 pieces of brass and waiting for some bullets. I dropped the rifle off at the smith last weekend, now its a month or longer wait.
