That's a 3 hour drive an I have to work for a living weekend there something always going on.
Definitely interesting those bullet holes are almost identical at 1k an 300Here's what I got this fall. New BRA, 20 break in rounds, I did a single 2/10th ladder at 1k. A month later, 119 rounds, I did it again at 300. Both times I was just looking for max since my reamer is slightly different. I did the one at 300 only because I was at the local range testing scopes, and 300 is all I had.
Would like to do something similar, but within minutes, and now that the barrel is "ready". Note the velocities changed quite a bit from green barrel to current, EXCEPT at the upper node. I have no idea if this below example teaches us anything since they're a month apart, and two different ranges, and quite a difference in elevation and temperature. Not to mention a very green barrel vs seasoned.
It does appear there's a definite node at 3100 though.

Was thinking you were closer then that, my bad....That's a 3 hour drive an I have to work for a living weekend there something always going on.
I am trying to locate a place where I can use a portable. BenchWas thinking you were closer then that, my bad....
Before I had my own range, use to take 1/2 day off work every once in while to go test/shoot.
I know Tom has taken off work to test a few times to.
You should talk to some farmers or cattle guys near you. That is what I use to do, and also is how I ended up with my own range (which is actually on 2 farmers lands).
Before it's over with,Bart will have you tuning at 100 yards.I'll tell you when I know the answer lol. Next year, when the snow goes off, I want to put paper at 100-300, and paper at 1k. Then I'll do one of my traditional ladders at 1k, and follow it by shooting one of each on a "level line" at one or all of the closer targets. This should allow me to correlate the distances if done within a few minutes of one another. If I see something that is obvious, I'll tell you, but you have to keep it secret!
