Tomball Gun Club Renovation Just About Complete.

For the past two months, my home club, The Tomball Gun Club, has been going through a renovation so as to bring our Burms up to specifications, improve the drainage, and level the range.

This has been a major project, but worth every penny in much better safety, bullet containment, drainage, and aesthetics.

Time to get back to shooting.

our only potential setback is we had the impregnated grass seed blown in just before the big freeze. there is some grass sprouting, but we might have to get it done again.

Dusty, the way we keep our overall cost down is we have no city or county services. That way the Club’s property is classed as undeveloped, keeping the taxes at a minimum.

We have a on site 20kw generator that runs on propane, and a clean PortaCan. It has been that way since the Club’s conception back in the early 1960’s.

As of now, we will have two NBRSA Registered Varmint for Score Matches, and five club score matches, plus a variety of Pistol and Rimfire Matches. We ceased having Group Matches because of low attendance. There simply is not that much interest in Group Shooting in the greater Houston area.

The Club is limited to 300 members. We are a non profit.

I consider being a member of the Tomball Gun Club a privilege. It is difficult to get in, and we demand all members respect the Club’s rules and respect the property. Members are allowed two guest.

Since I moved up there, I am about 15 minutes from the range. in truth, the majority of our members spend a minuscule amount of time at the facility than those of us who are involved in some type of competitive shooting.
