TO SWAP OR NOT TO SWAP

Thinking about (re)-joining the tuner crowd in 600/1000 BR. BUT.....I have been known to switch out a barrel a time or two (per relay).

Anyone switch the tuners from tube to tube to tube or do you just buy more tuners?

I see MANY of the best shooters I know using tuners. Not ALL, mind you, but the number is trending upward in a big way lately!!

I have a single dedicated tuner for each of my actions. When I switch a new barrel onto the action, that barrel gets to use the tuner until the next barrel switch.

I try to keep a tuner/brake for each barrel that is threaded.

If you are trying to save money, that's not where you want to go.
If you don't get that tuner back on in the same spot, then it's all for nothing.
Each barrel probably will have a different mark for the tuner.
Sounds like more work than you need.
Tuners are $150 + or - just buy one for each barrel.

I have a tuner on 2. And i have 2 without.

However .... When i get a rifle shooting right i have a hard time switching ... Meaning I'll blame the less than stellar performance on the unknowns of the switch. Head space, Jam, jump .....

I Certainly wouldn't change tuners.

I also don't change my tuner with the weather ...

man my head is spinning, lol !

In years past one of our better FClass shooters had a barrel with tuner for each range that he competed. Sure didn't hurt him.

Buy one for each barrel. They aren’t that expensive and I like to lock them down.
