To Ackleyize or not... that is the question...

I am going to hang my tea bags on the table here for a sec and toss out the question as to whether there is an inherent accuracy difference between the 260 and its ackleyized version?

Absolute speed is not my aim, but absolute accuracy is. If that accuracy can be preserved at a faster speed, so much the better, but basically, what is the general concensus regarding the relative merits of 260 vs 260 AI? My plan would be to shoot 130 Bergers or even 142 SMK's

Better case life with the improved version - no trimming. A bit more case capacity. Able to handle toastier loads better so will give you more speed without trashing your brass.

The improved version needs custom/semi custom dies to work. Quite a bit of stuff for the 40deg version. Very little for the 30/35deg versions.

Case forming is needed for the improved version.

Both will be equally accurate.

If feeding from a mag, definitely the reg. 260R or a 30Deg version. The 40deg version can get hung up in some CRF actions.
