Time to buy a barrel - 300 WSM build

I've got my money together to buy a barrel for the 300 WSM in putting together. It's a Tikka T3 action with a Bell & Carlson Target/Competition stock and Atlasworx bottom metal.

The rifle will be just used for fun. Trying to shoot small groups at distance. It'll be a long action WSM. I have a 250rd box of 208gr Hybrid Targets for it.

Now to the barrel question....

I don't plan on running anything heavier than 215's in it. I figured up the worst case scenario with a twist calculator and I'm going to have it cut at a 9.5 twist. I want a 28" barrel, more than likely in a heavy varmint contour. The only thing I'm not sure of, is what rifling I need to choose. Is there going be any real noticable difference? I'm going to get a cut rifled barrel. (Bartlein, Kreiger, Brux, K&P.....I don't really think that it'll matter which one) If you buying the barrel, how many grooves and what type of rifling would you choose?

Google random picker wheel and put 4, 5 and 6 and whatever it lands on, buy that one. It doesn't matter which one you choose. Each type wins matches and can shoot small

I'm going to get a cut rifled barrel. (Bartlein, Kreiger, Brux, K&P.....I don't really think that it'll matter which one) If you buying the barrel, how many grooves and what type of rifling would you choose?

Buy the first one you find in the contour and twist you want and go for it.

The 9.5 will stabilize any of the bullets you mentioned with room to spare.

As for the number of lands and Grooves, four, five, or six will all do the deed. I think a lot of “keyboard shooters” recommend the 5 grooves because they read that the five groove is a little more aggravating to indicate. After all, anything that is more aggravating MUST be better

I charge more to work on 5R barrels.

I’d get whatever barrel has the appropriate twist in stock, don’t worry about how many lands.
