I haven't been around the T-3's , but I have a 595 in 7mm-08 . I really like the rifle . it shoots well . the action is smooth as silk .

Good to hear my Remington 700 in 243 win. mysteriously got up and walked off so I was looking at the T3 as a replacement.

Not knowing what your intended purpose or use or yet even which model your might have interest in I will simply say this:

Tikka makes an outstanding quality rifle (based on the bazillion reviews I have read). Its a branch of the Sako line and both are owned by parent company Beretta.
Do some searches on (your interested model) under reviews and that will help awnser your question I believe.

Also, look at the Thompson Center Venture, Predator and Weathershield lines (if your after a hunting rifle) they are also top notch. They are are owned by parent company S&W.

Also, I might add all Tikka rifles are tested to shoot MOA prior to be shipped. TC actually guarantees MOA.
Tikka is made in Finland and TC is made in Springfield, MA

I have looked and looked at the Tikkas but, always go with the TCs. My current Venture chambered in 22-250 is a phenominal shooter. Easy to get .5 MOA all day long with my hand-loads. It really exudes quality for the price.

look at the twist on the 243 . I was looking at a T-3 in 243 but I don't think the twist will stabilize longer heavier bullets .

I know its a 10 twist but this will be used for White tail Deer and maybe a varmit or two.

I own a few Tikkas. My opinion is that they are the best factory rifle out there. Look for an older 595. I especially like the Master Sporters. They're the best examples I own. I have a couple T3s and they're nice and smooth, too. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong. Europtic just had a big sale. Might still be going on.

Had 2 Tikka T3 Tactical (Heavy barrels) Both shot lights out at any range I picked. They are simply very well built rifles.

The Tikka T-3 is IMO simply the best rifle for the dollar. I currently own 4 of them and have owned a couple of others, in each case it was nothing more than mounting a scope, sighting in the rifles with no issue and they are ready to hunt. Every one I have owned easily shot between 1/2 - 3/4 inch groups with absolutely no work to them at all. They use the same barrels as the Sako and the same trigger.
If I could only own one rifle it rifle would be a T-3, that is how much confidence I have in them.

As mentioned above Europtics has some really great prices on the T-3 right now, also Whittaker Guns has great prices on them.

I think they are the best bang for the buck going. They have a closed top on the receiver, side bolt release, bolt runs smooth as butter as the feeding does and no need for an aftermarket trigger. Install a trigger spring and you are good to go. What is their to not like about them. If you want to replace the stock there is plenty of options now days on aftermarket stocks.

I love my T3 in 300 WSM. It is extremely smooth and accurate. One thing I really love is that I could change the bolt stop and get a long action mag and now my 300 WSM is a long action. Now that is cool!

Where are you finding stocks? I'm looking to turn my t3 lite into something more target light eventually.

GRS makes a nice one. Pricey tho. I make my own.

For the mid-priced hunting rifle, I think the T3 is simply perfect. In my mind it beats the Weatherby, teh various Savages and the 700. I have shot several and if I were going to spend 5-700 dollars on a rifle, it would be a T3. That said, i just bought a 700 youth 243 for chicken fee, ($369) and am VERY pleased with it for the price. But, it is NOT a Tikka.

What your thoughts on these rifles?

I have no experience with the Tikka T3 rifles, but I have owned a M595 Tikka Master Sporter in .22-250 caliber since April 2001. It has been a great rifle and was easy to find a load for. During the first 12½ years I was using WW brass and used the 40 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets with great success on prairie dogs and coyotes. I replaced the magazine that came with it for the 5-round .243 caliber magazine because my reloads were too long for the shorter mag that came with it. In October 2013 I replaced the factory barrel with a stainless steel 1 in 12 twist #5 contour Brux barrel that I had fluted and had the barrel finished at 24" and chambered with a PTG reamer with a .255" neck and .030" lead. It is threaded for my AAC Ranger II suppressor as well. I had that barrel given the BLACKNITRIDE™ treatment and switched to using Lapua brass and the 50 gr. Z-Max bullets until I discovered the 53 gr. V-Max bullets. The 53 gr. V-Max bullets have been extremely accurate out of this rifle and they have a "SPLAT" factor on prairie dogs that is tremendous!!! Here's a photo of my setup out in a PD town in North Dakota. The scope is a Nikon Monarch 3 in 6-24x50mm with the Nikoplex reticle and it ALWAYS wears the sun shade.

I don't know if the T3 is similar to my Tikka Master Sporter M595, but Tikka rifles have had the reputation as being very accurate. The logo for the Tikka rifle is pictured below:

That is a symbol of two woodpeckers and means that the Tikka rifles are like woodpeckers in that they keep hitting the same hole over and over!!! If the T3 is as accurate as my M595, I would encourage you to invest in one without hesitation.
