Tikka t3 tourque.

So i picked up a tikka t3 lite today in 223. When i got home i did the usual pop it out of the stock and look at everything. Well i looked in the manual and it showed 62 inch lbs for the action screws! I started at 35 and then went to 50 inch lbs and then the front action screw cracked the bottom metal, and wont tighten. So im going to call them and see what they say. But the question, is there any need to go to 62 inch lbs in a pillar bedded synthetic stock? It sounds a bit high.

62 is way to much for the factory stock, 35 to 45 is where you should be, use this chart and adjust if necessary.

● Plastic stock rifles with floating lug: 35 inch-lbs
● Plastic stock with floating lug, bedded: 55 inch-lbs
● Plastic stock rifle, unbedded: 40-45 inch-lbs
● Glass stock rifle with unknown fill: 40-45 inch-lbs
● Glass stock rifle with ali chassis: 55-60 inch-lbs
● Wood stock rifle with floating lug: 35 inch-lbs
● Wood stock, bedded or unbedded but without pillars: 40-45 inch-lbs
● Wood stock rifle, pillar bedded: 55-60 inch-lbs
● Laminate stock rifle, bedded or unbedded but without pillars: 40-45 inch-lbs
● Laminate pillar bedded rifle: 55-60 inch-lbs
● Ali chassis/tube rifle: 55-60 inch-lbs

I do 45 inch pounds for all 7 of my Tikkas. Broke the bottom metal? I think they owe you.

That really sucks they "misprinted" the action screw torque value.

I use 40 in-lbs in synthetic pillar bedded stocks for standard cartridges, and 45 in-lbs for magnums that kick hard.
