The base of a Tikka is 1" at the tenon. I am guessing your McMillan is much larger.

Right. But mine is a nut barrel. It will only be 1" at the tenon.

If ya get a chance could ya measure nut and a10 inches down the barrel that will tell me how much channeling I need to do thanks barry

You are saying that your barrel channel is only .79" at the end of the channel? That is a skinny barrel.

The part where you lost me is the measurement at the end of the stock. What is the OD of the barrel at the end of the stock? You said it is .9 at the muzzle.

The tikka ctr barrel i removed fit like a glove in the mcmillian stock i am measuring on the removed barrel specific areas that will sit in barrel channel once it leaves barrel channel it dont matter so the barrel channel area isaround 10 inches total length so i measured at base on barrel and end of stock area where last part of barrel will be in stock channel . I know heavy varmint is bigger but by comparing barrel measurements ill know how much i need to open channel

You said 1.2 at the base, .9 at the muzzle and .75 at the end of the stock.

That doesn't make sense.

Ok I got it now. Must have a quick taper at the tenon then straight out. I can do that.
